Another of my wonderful wedding couples, turned into a beautiful family! One of my favorite things to capture are the genuine moments of families with young children. Through my experience, I've learned that these fleeting years of childhood are incredibly precious. Beauty and value can be found in every laugh, tantrum, and messy moment. These special photos tell the story of a family's journey and remind us of the authenticity and beauty found in the chaos. I believe that even the imperfect moments are what make these times so special and worth preserving. When I photograph families with young children, I strive to create lasting memories that they can cherish forever.

Chris + Briana | Rainy Day Surprise Proposal at Kerry Park {Seattle, WA}

On their trip to Seattle, Briana knew she would be seeing some incredible views, but she was over the moon when one of those views included the sight of Chris, down on one knee, with a gorgeous engagement ring, and a very important question.

Hannah + Calvin | PNW Ferry Adventure {Edmonds Ferry to Kingston, WA)

An arranged marriage.

Just kidding. But for real though, Hannah + Calvin have known each other since they were kids. Their moms were best friends and would always joke (and hope) that they would grow up and marry each other one day. Well lucky for them, it actually happened!

For their engagement session, we decided to recreate their first date on the Edmonds ferry. We started at the little beach at Brackett’s Landing and rode the ferry over to Kingston and back, taking photos along the way, and it was such a fun little adventure!

Kim + Regan | Mt. Rainier Engagement Session {Mt. Rainier National Park, WA}

Spent the evening running around Mt. Rainier National Park with Kim + Regan celebrating their engagement and documenting their playful, blissful, beautiful love. The low clouds brought such a magical vibe and solidified my opinion of Mt. Rainier being one of the coolest places in the world.

Danielle + Scott | Wes Anderson Inspired Elopement at Washington Park Arboretum

These two had a beautiful, intimate little wedding at the Washington Park Arboretum, inspired by their favorite Wes Anderson films! Danielle + Scott are both in the military and love the outdoors! Their first date was kayaking and they got engaged at the summit of Mt. Washburn in Yellowstone National Park! They were so fun to work with it was so amazing to be able to witness their special day!

Tim + Laura | Session Highlights {Belltown, Seattle, WA}

I am a strong believer that if you are not progressing, then you are regressing - which is why I am constantly investing my time and money into education and practice.

One of my favorite things about photography is that you can ALWAYS KEEP LEARNING. You can never know everything there is to know. There will always be new techniques, new ways to see and play with light, and countless other ways to grow and expand your skill sets. We all have our own little niches and I really love to get mentoring from other photographers who I think have their "niche" truly mastered. Yesterday I got schooled by another photographer in the area who is absolutely incredible in working with an urban setting and harsh or dramatic lighting. We strolled around Belltown and shot these two incredible people, and by the end I truly felt like I was seeing things in a totally new way. Such a great opportunity.

Lauren + Scott | Discovery Park Engagement Session {Seattle, WA}

Lauren and Scott are one of the sweetest couples I've had the chance to work with. I had so much fun with them, exploring Discovery Park while hearing all about their beautiful love story!

They met in College at the University of Oregon and have been together for seven years, a majority of which has been spent in different states. Lauren works and lives in California, and Scott is a minor league baseball player and lives on the east coast! I have so much respect for couples who make long-distance relationships work, especially these two! They may not spend every waking moment together, but when they are in the same place at the same time, they make the most of it!

These two beautiful people were such a blast to photograph! I still can't get over Selam's gorgeous smile - and nobody brings that smile out like Yonas. Also, how gorgeous is this location? A little bit of green with a whole lot of urban. Ugh, I'm in LOVE.
