Cate + Shane’s Day-After-Wedding Session!
Read MoreThese two adventurers came all the way from California to elope at the charming little Copper Creek Inn on the Ashford side of Mt. Rainier National Park. After the ceremony, we wandered around the mountain and took some awesome wedding day portraits at Longmire Bridge. Although it can be pretty chilly, February is such a beautiful month at Mt. Rainier (the parts that are accessible at least) because it is typically rainy and overcast, and the rich, moody colors are unmatched! Such a peaceful and wonderful afternoon to get married!
Congratulations Alexandra + Alan!
Read MoreAmanda + David had their first look and wedding portraits done at Rialto Beach in Olympic National Park, a couple of months before their Seattle winter wedding, and it was absolutely gorgeous! The weather pulled through for us and brought a perfectly moody, overcast Washington day on the coast. These two were such a blast to work with and hang out with for the afternoon, and I absolutely love when couples choose an off-site location for their wedding portraits! Congrats again, Amanda and David!
Top 5 benefits of having your first look and wedding portraits done ahead of time:
You can choose a location with incredible views (like this one!) or one that is special to the the two of you! You aren’t limited to your wedding venue and the surrounding area.
Most of the wedding day nerves disperse with the first look! If you get it done ahead of time, you can look forward to your wedding day with nothing but excitement!
Have more time on your wedding day to relax, socialize, and party! Also, there’s no need to spend the first half of the day hiding from each other since you have already seen each other in your wedding clothes!
You can use it as a trial run for your hair and makeup.
If we get the timing right, you will likely already have photos in your wedding attire that you can use at your wedding for your decor, guestbook, etc.

They both grew up in Nevada, so they chose a venue that perfectly manifests the beauty of their new Washington home, Kitsap Memorial State Park. On the morning of their wedding, Pete got ready at a quaint little cabin in the park, while Ash spent the morning at an Airbnb with her girls. Ashley fittingly rocked Rue De Seine’s Ash Gown and we’re all convinced they designed it specifically for her. After the sweetest first look and couple’s portraits, they fetched their little black pug, Winston, for some special puppy portraits! Then they were off to wed among the trees with the most emotional exchange of vows. Just before dinner, Ashley surprised Peter with a beautiful slideshow of memories and a touching message from his grandparents. Then to finish off the most perfect wedding day, the newlyweds grubbed on some delicious food truck pizza, headed down to the beach for some sunset portraits, and danced the night away with all of their favorite people!
Congratulations you two!

Their best friends came along for their special day and acted as their officiants. One of my favorite parts of the evening was at the very end of their ceremony, the fog came rolling in right in time for their first kiss as a married couple! It was so magical, I couldn’t believe the timing. Bravo, Mother Nature.

These two have the cutest relationship and their love blessed all in attendance to their intimate, family-oriented wedding day on Vashon Island. Janita described Jonathan as the Yang to her Yin, and that was apparent from the moment I met them. They complete eachother.
Congratulations Janita + Jonathan!
